Photo Slideshow:  Original Change Project & Temple Of Hip Hop

On Friday June 26th, Original Change Project teamed up with the non-profit, The Temple of Hip Hop, to bring health awareness to an event that traditionally caters to spreading positive social consciousness through the art form of hip hop. Legendary rapper KRS-ONE was in the house, along with many other local artists, to spread peace through hip hop culture. All elements of hip hop were represented, as can be seen from the photos below, but Original Change Project catered to the unmet needs of a lot of hip-hop heads, mainly health insurance. We were hard at work checking blood pressure, spreading word about Illinois State health insurance programs, talking to youth about attending college, and providing referrals to health clinics. Folks were enthusiastic which made the event a success for Original Change Project. We look forward to working with other organizations in Chicago - please contact us for more information.

Where: Clarendon Park Community Center (4501 N. Clarendon Ave)

When: Friday June 26th, 12 to 8pm

What: A celebration of hip hop's elements and more: breakin, emceein, graffiti, deejayin, beat boxin, fashion, knowledge - through discussions and performances

Why: Original Change Project seeks to raise health consciousness in atmospheres where individuals least expect us to be - we love the sneak attack!
