Photo Slideshow: Original Change Project & Breast Cancer Awareness to Action Summit

On Saturday August 15th, Original Change Project attended the Breast Cancer Awareness to Action Summit which took place at Trinity United Christ Church on the south side of Chicago. The event served to provide breast cancer education and the opportunity to sign up for free mammograms to a population of women that has been afflicted by a higher mortality rate from breast cancer.

Original Change Project saw this as a chance to address additional health concerns that these women also face. In 5 hours, we screened 150 women for diabetes, hypertension and obesity. We provided vision screenings, health education, weight management counseling and referrals to government health insurance and free clinics.

Thank you to our volunteers who made it all possible: Erin Frazer, Poghni Peri-Okonny, Elle Harris, Demetrio Santiago, George Michael, Michael Lamberta, Jill Smolevitz, and Winnie Liu.
